I know I said I’d be cutting back on non-local shows this autumn and winter, and I truly meant it—but today we made the short trip to the Liskeard & District Premier Show, just an hour away.
Peggy not only won Best Utility Veteran, but went on to take Best Veteran in Show!
“Shocked” doesn’t even begin to cover it. I arrived with barely ten minutes to spare—very unlike me—and had to do a frantic bit of scissor work to get Peggy ready for the Judge.
My original plan was simply to enjoy a quick moment in the ring with Peggy before heading off to Bodmin Moor for a walk with friends. So when she won her first class, beating several Champions, I was absolutely floored. And when she then went on to beat all of the other Veteran group winners… well, I was speechless.
Being handed the BVIS rosette was a moment I’ll never forget—it was simply fantastic. I honestly didn’t know what to do with myself 😂
Naturally, we celebrated as any poodle should—with cuddles from one of her favourite humans, a sausage from the burger van, and a walk on the moors to see the Trippet Stones.
